This one-hour ethics CLE is currently accredited in Washington and Oregon. California accreditation is pending approval.
What You’ll Learn

In this on-demand CLE course, Professor Joanna Perini-Abbott covers the essential skills and ethical considerations every attorney needs to build trust and maintain professionalism in client counseling. Professor Perini-Abbott is the Director of the Lewis and Clark Law School Advocacy Center. With over a decade of litigation experience, she draws on her work in public defense, private criminal defense, and civil litigation to provide actionable strategies for handling even the most challenging client interactions.

This course covers the initial meeting, ongoing communication and ending the representation. You will learn about delivering bad news, addressing client expectations, defining the scope of representation and empowering clients to make informed decisions. The ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct are covered in the lecture to ensure you are not just competent, but also ethical in your practice.
