This CLE will go over how AI technology works, the risks and benefits, and things to keep in mind when selecting software to use. Additionally, the ethical rules to adhere to when using AI will be covered. An attorney needs to know what ethical questions to ask before and during use of AI to ensure proper use of the product while protecting themselves, their firm, and their clients. The following ABA Rules of Professional Conduct will be covered: 1.1 (Competence), 1.3 (Diligence), 1.4 (Communication), 1.5 (Fees), 1.6 (Confidentiality), 5.1-5.3 (Supervision).
