Whether you're fresh out of law school or decades into practice, keeping up with your continuing legal education (CLE) requirements is important. For Florida attorneys, here’s what you need to know to stay in compliance—and how CLEcast can help you meet the requirements on your schedule.
Florida CLE Requirements: The Basics
Every active member of The Florida Bar must complete 30 CLE credits every 3 years. Here are the specialty credits required:
3 Technology Credits. These can cover cybersecurity, legal tech tools, AI, e-discovery, or other law-related technology developments.
5 Ethics & Professionalism Credits. This category includes legal ethics, professionalism, mental health and wellness, and substance abuse topics. Remember, 2 of the 5 must be from the free 2-credit Florida Legal Professionalism course produced by The Florida Bar.
Reporting Date
CLE reporting cycles in Florida are every 3 years, but each attorney is assigned a deadline based on their admission date to the Bar. Check your Florida Bar profile to confirm your compliance date.
